Community Clean-up September 18, 2021
Community Cleanup is over for another year. Thanks to City Of Calgary, Technotrash and Care Connections for the collection bins, Telus for the donation and swag bags, McDonalds and Tim Hortons for the food, and to the hard working volunteers that showed up and made it another successful year. Here are a few of the pictures
FCCA Honours Fallen Police Officer with Naming Of Rink
September 1, 2021 was a great day in FCCA History. So proud that our Falconridge/Castleridge Community Rink was given a name. It is officially the Sgt. Andrew Harnett Memorial Rink after the CPS Officer who was killed in Falconridge on NYE. Mayor Nenshi; Councillor, George Chahal; and Police Chief Mark Neufeld all spoke and GM Lee Pederson, who spearheaded the whole event acted as MC. Sgt. Harnett's wife, Chelsea was also in attendance and received a huge bouquet and a certificate recognizing this day. CPS Honour Guard Team was also here.
Thanks to FCCA Board President, Mark Langlois and Secretary, Stephanie Graves-Beckman for helping with the unveiling of the signs. Also thanks to staff members Anita Warriner and Helen Powers and Mark Weisbeck for their assistance along with Martin Beckman. There was an incredible turnout of officers and dignitaries including Marilyn North Piegan, of the Police Commission and the CPS fire chief Steve Dongworth as well. Special thanks also goes out to Constable Steve Terry who assisted in the event planning and setup.
The wind picked up and even lifted the canopy which was bent beyond repair, but despite that it was a good event. All participants were invited in to Langlois Hall for snacks after the presentations were over. What a great way to honor an officer who served our community for over 12 years. Some pictures of the event are below.

Breakfast With Santa
When you don't have a vehicle to haul stuff in- a wheelbarrow will work. This gentlemen made several trips back and forth to his house because he did not have access to a vehicle.

Neighbour Day Breakfasts are becoming a popular alternative to traditional Stampede Breakfasts and is a great day to celebrate with our neighbours and friends. There is always great entertainment, bouncy castles, games and activities for the whole family. Special guests included Spider Man, Captain America, and Ward 5 Councillor, George Chahal
